Students will research and use a budget to plan their “Dream Vacation”

If your students could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would they go? Have your students plan a week long trip to a country they would like to visit. They will take one other person with them. Give them a generous budget to work with and a list of information to look for. They will make their own travel guide and itinerary, putting it into the Bare Book. Allow time in advance so students can request information from that country or research the country online.

Information to include:

• Who will take the trip with you?
• What time of year will you go?
• What kind of transportation will you take to get there?
• What will the weather be like when you get there?
• What kind of clothes should you take?
• What language do they speak?
• Where will you stay?
• What kind of money do they use, and what is the rate exchange?
• Where will you stay?
• What kind of transportation will you use while you are there?
• What maps would benefit you?
• What are the common types of food in the area?
• What are the observed holidays and what do they represent?
• How would you contact an Officer of the Law?
• How would you contact an Emergency Medical Facility?
• Where is the closest United States Embassy?
• What would you bring back with you to remember your trip?
